CleanEnergy Creates 370-Mile Hydrogen Fuel System

"C.En (Clean Energy)'s scientists have developed new technology that could enable automobile manufacturers to produce and sell cars that use hydrogen power. The report said that the deal breaker for hydrogen so far hasn't been with regard to producing the fuel; it's been getting the fuel into the car and storing it in a fuel tank. Instead of liquid hydrogen, which is unstable, "C.En's tank uses hydrogen gas, collected from the environment (meaning that it's not produced from fossil fuels) and enclosed in a thin but leakproof glass container." The report said that liquid hydrogen usually requires a large and heavy tank that can only hold about 20 gallons, which is enough for just 150 miles. C.En's tank can store 60 gallons worth—meaning about 370 miles between fill-ups—and the cells could be bought and sold at any automotive or discount store." More
